Elmo

Happy Birthday My Big Boy!!

Wow, 2 years have gone too fast! Happy Birthday sweetheart! Kc's birthday has been such a fun day. We came down to St. George last night to spend a few days with my parents and the kids are loving it. They practically idolize my dad so they were really REALLY excited to get here. And so far Grandpa has not disappointed :)

We started the day with presents from Mommy and Daddy. This was really fun this year since we told grandma and grandpa to not give toys. (my way of assuring that I can give the COOLEST gift :) )

Kc was spoiled with a new tricycle and helmet, an airplane toy by Little People, and a Tickle Me Elmo from Parker. He likes to carry Elmo around and calls him Elmo Baby. He has a bigger Elmo too so I guess he thinks the small one is a baby. Its pretty funny to watch him try to tickle Elmo and then get scared when it starts to dance around lol.

We had plans to go over to the indoor pool around noon, but still had plenty of time to burn before hand so we enjoyed the condo pool too. Kc just wants to jump off the side the whole time so he got worn out pretty fast.

Then after lunch we went to Sand Hallow pool. It was great! They have a big water slide that Parker was tall enough to go down by himself and he did a great job of swimming to the side after he got to the bottom. Kc liked the big slide too, but the little frog one was more his size.

After a few hours of swimming fun we had to call it quits when someone puked in the pool. Yeah, gross.

Tonight we had dinner at the Pizza Factory and then home for birthday cake compliments of Harmon's. I know, its lame that I didn't make him a cake myself, but I did so many in June, I got a little burned out and I'm enjoying a month off. And lucky for me Kc doesn't know the difference or care right now. The cake was not very tasty though, so I guess there are some trade offs.

So now for a some great playtime with grandpa before bedtime. And then Parker, Daddy and Grandpa get to go to the movie and see Kung Fu Panda. Mom and I are hoping the thunderstorms pass us by so we can put Kc to bed and go out to the pool.

So its been a fun day. I know I'm biased, but I just have to say that Kc is pretty much the cutest kid around. Just thinking about him makes me smile and laugh. I'm so glad that he came to our family and that we get to enjoy watching him grow. It only gets better as he grows older because him and Parker have more and more fun learning to play together. (Never mind that they are fighting right as I type this)

Here's a flashback for you of the last few years with our sweet little guy.

Happy Birthday Kc!!! We love you so much!!

Yummm

Cookies and Milk, nothing better

A Delta 4th

Every year we can we go to Delta for the 4th of July. You may wonder why someone would go to Delta of all places, but what you don't know is that the 4th in Delta is the coolest ever. There's a sweet parade, a big family lunch, and then the demolition derby.

My grandparents live there and we've been going most every year for as long as I can remember and its my favorite holiday tradition out of the whole year. I love to see all my family that come for it and now that I can bring my own kids its even better.

So here are some picture highlights from our trip :)

Here we are at grandmas out in the "barn" guest house waiting to go to the parade, note the SWEET hair do's.

Check out the jets that fly over before the parade starts
Candy!!!
In years past we would go to the "Res" the town resevoir and spend the afternoon. My dad would bring his boat and we would ski and tube all day. It was fun, expecially with the killer sunburn I always seemed to get. So this year we decided to take the kids over to give them their own "res" experience, minus the boat and all the extra people. KC LOVED it. He could have stayed all day. Parker lasted about 15 mins, and then he decided it was making him dirty, and we can't have that now can we. So we didn't stay long, but it was fun while it lasted.

We didn't get any pics at the derby, but it was great. Hot bleachers stuffed with 3 xs as many people as they should be, water fights, squirmy kids, and nice juicy derby burgers. Oh and a snow cone from grandpa, you can't forget that. KC got to stay back at grandmas with his grandma, maybe next year we'll take him.

Janine had this tag on her blog and I thought it would be fun to see how Parker would answer these questions. Parker likes to talk a lot and thinks the funniest things sometimes so this should be interesting.

Well that was fun. And he's begging me to play the game some more so here are some random questions.

A: going up to sing and play and make stuff

  • What are you going to be when you grow up?

A: what your job is, making cakes, but mine will be yummier than yours. But I'm already good at that because I help you make cakes all the days

After that last question he started to panic that we hadn't made a birthday cake yet for KC's birthday tomorrow and he ran to get his apron. I told him I wasn't going to make a birthday cake for KC we are going to get him a cupcake at the store ( I know, sad huh) THen the tears started. Oh KC will be so sad!, he never gets a birthday cake! I don't think KC will even notice or care lol. But it looks like we might be making a cake for KC after all, even if its just a simple one. SO I'd better go!
