True Love

You know it's meant to be when the top tier of the cake comes out of the oven with a heart in it. This was last weekend's wedding cake. The brides name was Heather, she was the winner of my cake drawing held on face-book. Thanks everyone for your continued support and referrals! My summer is already filling up and I'm so exited!

We found a solution for our cats so I can have my business. We are building a door at the top of our stairs and the kitties will now be upstairs/indoors only cats. This way I can keep the out of the kitchen area at all times. So I'm in the process now if completing the paperwork for my business license and will be up and running soon legally!! Yay! It may be a while before I can afford to pay myself very much, but I'm so exited to be able to move forward with this and work towards my dreams. My babysitting arrangement is working out great. The kids are taking care of and happy, I get to have quiet, uninterrupted time to work, and then when they come home I can put it all away and we can play and be together! Love it.

I just got my new business cards and advertising fliers in the mail today and they turned out so great. If you would like some to give out please email me your address at kari (at) utahcakecouture (dot) com.

I also got some cool side magnets for my car when I make deliveries and am out and about. They are huge and have my business same and website on them.

Happy Birthday to Ginna!

Even though we missed her actual birthday it's been fun getting see Kris, Ginna, and Max this last week! We can't wait till this summer when they move a bit closer and we can actually go visit! Love you guys

Prisoner

In case you haven't figured it out by now Clayton is a busy boy! So to help control the chaos we got the gate of all baby gates. It's 12 feet long and wonderful. Clayton may not agree, but it sure is nice not having to pull him out of cupboards anymore!

Cooking Lessons

It's never to early to teach your kids to cook. Clayton's specialty is Cat.

Another Birthday???!

Happy 30th to Aaron!!!

Yay for birthdays! Aaron has twin older brothers who's birthdays are the day before his so even though they had their own days to celebrate, and his parents made each of their birthdays special, he always wished he could have the time just to himself lol. (and he would have had he been patient enough to wait for his due date in April to be born) So once we got married he had this idea that he would have his birthday to himself now, but nope, along came Parker the day before! So he always has to share his birthday in a way and after all the energy (and money) put into Parker's birthday there isn't always much left for his. So this year I was determined to make it special.

He got to start the day with a fun decorated office! I enlisted the help of a few of his co-workers and filled his office with ballons, signs, and confetti :) Then I picked him up a few hours early for a date. Unfortunatly he wasn't in much of a fun birthday mood so he didn't really want to do much while we were out, but it was fun to spend time together kid free none the less.

Thinking we were going home to a nice quiet evening of cake and ice cream with the kids he was shocked to find that I had planned a surprise party for him. Some of our friends came over to help us celebrate and we had a great time. Thanks everyone for all your help! I couldn't have pulled it off without you! It helps of course that Aaron doesn't always pick up on things, so the numerous times I pretty much gave it all away he never figured it out. I like this surprise stuff, I may just have to do it again next year.
I love you Aaron! You're my best friend and the best thing that ever happened to me! I hope you had a fun birthday!
